WARM WELCOME FOR TENANTS OF CLAGH VANE

DoLGE tenants of the older section of Clagh Vane Ballasalla are looking forward to what they hope will be a warm winter 2009 to 2010, after a long wait, a lot of discussions and not a little complaining, DoLGE have advertised for tenders for the installation of  central heating and separately the installation of new front and rear doors.

The location is what is known locally as either the ‘horseshoe or inner circle’. The site was originally planned for demolition under the Clagh Vane and Crossag Farm plan, the later having failed in the planning and high court procedure; the site had been planned for a new School, although that idea had very little support in the village.

The installation of central heating had been fought for by the MHK for Malew and Santon, Graham Cregeen during his election campaign and since his appointment. He can add this to his list of many successes in the area; he was joined in this fight by BADRA and all the tenants.

The Editor is unofficially informed that it is to be a Gas central heating system but that can not be confirmed.

So with the building of 15 apartments and one bungalow on the north side of the entrance, new doors and central heating installed in the horseshoe properties it is hoped that this coming winter will be for most Clagh Vane tenants a  warmer and more settled place.
