THE GOVERNOR VISITS MALEW
 
The Lieutenant Governor Sir Paul Haddacks paid an official visit to Malew on 17th March 2008.
Arriving first at the Commissioners’ Office in Ballasalla, there he was presented with some flowers by seven year old Charlotte Powell, he then met Chairman of the Commissioners Mr R.Pilling and the other members of the Commissioners, Malew and Santon MHK Graham Cregeen, Captain of the Parish Roy Gelling and Clerk to the Commissioners Barry Powell.

The Governor then moved on to Ballasalla Primary School.
 
 
He then attended Colas and Domicillium local industries.  Later moving on to Kerrowkeil Methodist chapel built in 1841 he was also with the Commissioners, Graham Cregeen MHK, Roy Gelling CP, and members of the chapel.
 
They where given the history of the chapel by Methodist preacher David Perkins, the views south from the chapel on the day where fantastic it was a clear day, the Lieutenant Governor described it as ‘a little Jewel’.

Also included in the day was a visit to Mrs Menzies to help her celebrate her 100th birthday (Click here for more details) 

All in all a wonderful day was had by all.
