J G Kelly withdraw their appeal

There’s been a u-turn over plans for a development which would've increased Ballasalla’s population by more than 30 per cent.

Developer JG Kelly has withdrawn its appeal over a failed petition of doleance to build more than 250 homes at Crossag Farm.

The proposals were originally turned down by a planning inspector who said there was a shortage of facilities which would be needed by new residents.

The building firm then had its petition dismissed by the court, which upheld a decision by the Council of Ministers.

David Allsebrook of the Ballasalla and District Residents' Association says it's great news.
