Improvements To Clagh Vane

October 2009 greets mass improvements to Clagh Vane Ballasalla most of the old houses in the horseshoe have now had gas central heating installed, and at time of writing the front and back wooden doors are being replaced with PVC double glazed doors, this will mean no more cold houses in the depth of winter and happier tenants.

Also the scaffolding is being put up on the first block, ready for the ‘turning around’ of the houses in the newer Crossag Close, the aim is for the old back doors to be come front doors and vice-versa for the old front doors. As well as other environmental improvements.

What will be most noticeable to anyone travelling along Douglas Road, Ballasalla is the green fencing erected around 83 to 105 Clagh Vane which is for safety reasons during the demolition of those properties, which this reporter is told will commence around the 7th October.

The environmental improvements to the remaining part of the estate have moved forward with the building of a car park at the front of

Cobbold Place
to operate as a temporary parking area for the School during term time. The remaining works will follow in the next few months, creating such things parking areas in front of houses which it is hoped should alleviate the road parking situation.

So after many years of being in the spotlight it is nice to report that all this is happening within the estate is moving without any major problems.

All this can only lead to happier tenants and better relations between tenants and DoLGE.
