NEWS FLASH FROM MANX RADIO

6.00pm 19th JANUARY 2010.

Just in: The UK’s Department of Health has confirmed the reciprocal health agreement will end, as planned, in April.

Within the last few minutes, the department has told Manx Radio the decision will stand, despite today’s summit between UK Minister for Health Andy Burnham and the Island’s Chief Minister Tony Brown and Health Minister Eddie Teare.

It means Manx residents will soon have to pay for medical treatment in the UK, other than accident and emergency care and scheduled referrals to the UK for specialist treatment.
