Best in Breed triumph for Tanya and Marty

A dog owner from Ballasalla has won a Best in Breed accolade at the Crufts dog show.

Tanya Mackrell was the only exhibitor from the Isle of Man to achieve the distinction, taking the honours with her Australian Silky Terrier "Bombix Moren Dosis Maxima", also known as Marty.

Marty was reserve best in breed at last year's event and will now go on to compete in the Champion of Champions contest for the top 60 show dogs in Britain.

In the Working Group, Gemma Stockton, also from Ballasalla, won first prize in the Good Citizen Dog Scheme with her Boxer "Emjaycee Country Yokel at Kiztok".

Overall, Manx owners picked up 18 wins and places in breed classes, many of which were with dogs bred on the Island.
