BADRA SECRETARY STEPS DOWN

It is with great regret that I have to announce that with effect immediately I have resigned as Secretary of BADRA, due to poor health. I would like to thank everyone who made my time both enjoyable and exhilarating, and in that I include everybody from both sides of the table.

In particular I would like to thank David Allsebrook, Bob Pilling and Graham Cregeen as well as all the other committee members and ordinary members.  I take this opportunity to congratulate Barry Nutter on his appointment as Secretary.

I would also take this opportunity to thank John Payne, Debbie Reeve and Nigel Cubbon for continuing to work with me sometimes through difficult situations but always being instructive.

There are far too many to name here but again I thank all.

For those who think they have seen the back of me completely I am sorry that is not so! I shall continue to be editor of www.badra.org. Our website and I shall also keep involved in the village and in particular Clagh Vane.

On that subject may I congratulate DoLGE on agreeing to install gas central heating and double glazed front and rear doors before next winter in the older ‘horseshoe’ section of Clagh Vane, for those who don’t know we on the entrance corner are now down to 3 occupied houses and these should be empty by mid summer this year 2009 and I am told the site should be cleared by the autumn ready for redevelopment.

Might I also take this chance to inform anyone who has anything, photo’s etc which may be of interest to the commissioners exhibition on the History of Ballasalla, to make contact with Bob Pilling, Isabel Collister or Barry Powell (Clerk to the Commissioners) as soon as possible.

Once again may I thank you all.

Eddie Power
